Received this book from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Courtney has been spending summers with her best friend, Robin and her family at their home in Nantucket. Over the years Courtney has fallen in love with Robin’s brother James. Spending the summers in Nantucket, she is shown a different way of life. She grew up in the Midwest and spent her time with her best friend, Monty.
While dropping her off for her latest trip to Nantucket, Monty tells her his true feelings about her and proposes to her. This sets the stage for the summer in Nantucket. As the reader, we learn about this family and the many family members, their friends, their lovers, their best friends.
This is a book about family, fitting into a family, secrets, love, romance, and relationships. Most of the characters have some secret of some kind. We learn about them as the book unfolds. I read this book fast. I enjoyed the book. It was a very fast read. I think perfect for a beach, laying by the pool read. This book isn’t great literature, but I don’t think it is trying to be. It is a light read, perfect for a summer day.
