This book is a delightful book about self esteem and boosting self confidence. The story is about a young girl, Carol, who comes home upset because she is choosen last and strikes out at softball. Her Mother streses the things that she, Carol, does well: art, music, ballet. She soon realizes that she has many things she does well and that even though she may not be the best player on the team -she is still a valuable member of the team and contributes to it’s success. She never forgets her Mother’s words and when she becomes a Mother herself, she instills in her son healthy self esteem by stressing what he does well.
My son and I loved the rhyming and the story. It is easy to read and understand for children (and adults) of all ages.
