Although I did not read the first book in this series, I was able to appreciate this book as a stand alone book. This book is about survivors who are trapped in a Mall after a deadly flu outbreak. A Senator is in charge and is attempting to bring order to the Mall following a riot that occurred in the first book in this series. In addition she is attempting to separate the sick from the healthy and to keep the survivors safe. Lexi, Marco, Ryan, Mike, Drew, and Shay along with others are teens trapped in the Mall. They are forming alliances and trying to stay safe.

I thought this book was well written and the characters were interesting. The story was good but not a page turner for me. The action was neither too fast nor too slow. I liked that there is a division of days with sections labeled day 7, day 8 for example. I do look forward to reading the next in the series.
