Received this book from the publisher and Netgalley.
Last seen leaving is a YA mystery book that has a very likable main character (Flynn) who is trying to figure out what happened to his missing girlfriend while keeping a secret of his own.
This book instantly grabbed me. I liked the character of Flynn instantly. He is a teenager whose life is turned upside down when the police come to his home to ask him questions about the last time he saw his missing girlfriend. The book is not only about her (January’s) disappearance, it is also about secrets, acceptance, friendship, love, attraction and to a small degree politics.
Flynn is a very likable young man who has been keeping a secret. As he tries to unfold his girlfriend’s secret, he must deal with his own secret. A secret he has kept from everyone in his life. A secret that once it is know will change his life forever.
I don’t want to give the plot away, but I will say that this mystery is very nicely done. It is perfect for fans of various genres. Nothing is over the top in this book. Everything is believable. There are no graphic murder scenes so this mystery is great for those who are squeamish.
I found this to be a very enjoyable read and look forward to reading more books by Caleb Roehrig.
